Not what you were looking for? Were you looking for the T-34-85 Rudy or the T-34-85M?

The T-34-85 is the Soviet tier 6 medium tank. It is an upgraded T-34 with a new three-man turret (The T-34-76 had a two-man turret), and more powerful armament.

In-game, the T-34-85 has excellent mobility, just like it's predecessor, Strong armour on the new turret and a powerful potential for its choices of armament: up to a 122mm gun, which gives this tank an advantage in armament over its tier 6 competitors as well as the ability to combat stronger armored tanks tiers above it.

Armour on the turret is much stronger than on the hull: a hull-in-cover position is recommended for defensive tactics, while in attacks, use the tank's excellent mobility, turret turning speed and powerful armament to crush your enemies in mobile close fights.

This tank overall is a very flexible and all-rounded tank. Players who come from the T-34 should have no problem playing the tank.

Researching Order

Follow these steps in order. These steps are arranged to minimize the pain of stock grinding. Click Open to read.

  1. If the 9RM Radio was researched previously on the T-34, mount immediately.
    1. If the 122mm U-11 was researched on the KV-1, mount optionally.
  2. Research the 85mm ZiS-S-53 to unlock the next turret and T-43 for research.
  3. Research T-34-85 extended. Its needed to unlock and mount the 85mm D5T-85BM. It also carries over to the T-43.
    1. If the gun was researched on the KV-13, LTTB, IS, or T-44, mount immediately, or you can go straight for the T-43. The next steps can be ignored, but the engine carries over to the T-43 also, so it's recommended to research the engine first before you can research the T-43.
  4. The V-2-34M is needed to unlock the V-54 for research.
    1. Go beyond this step if you are gonna elite this tank.
  5. Research T-34-85-60 for a extra mobility boost.
  6. Research the 122mm U-11.
